Have you heard of WordPress?

Maybe you know about WordPress and maybe you do not. You may be forgiven for thinking that WordPress is mostly just a "technical" application for code-programming techies and geeks like web developers and web designers.
I understand why you may feel this way. Perhaps you believe that, as a small business owner, your focus should be 100% on your business and not on technical things like websites. That's why businesses employ web developers, website designers and web masters to build and look after their websites, isn't it?
In the Digital Economy, businesses can no longer think in terms of "owning a business" and "owning a website" as being two separate things. A digital presence has now become an integral part of your business, and managing your business online, is just as important as managing your business offline.
Consider the following:
No matter what your business is, there is global competition at the local business level. You may not be targeting local customers online, but your competitors are. You need a digital presence that allows you to stay competitive in the digital economy.

(Don't ignore competitors)
Your business cannot afford not to have an online presence. Your web presence has to be "dynamic" not static.
You have to continually promote your business online using new content, social media, different channels and different content formats in order to let potential customers know that you exist.

(Your web presence needs fresh content on a regular basis to stay relevant)
Marketing "to" your website visitors is no longer as desirable as talking "with" them online, responding to their questions or acknowledging their ideas and suggestions.
Users want information "on tap" and they want to feel that their feelings matter to your business.

(Marketing "to" your website visitors is not as effective as talking "with" them)
This requires having an effective "master" plan and an online vehicle that enables you to successfully achieve your business objectives.
Although it's accurate to say that many website developers and web designers absolutely love WordPress, WordPress is not something that only "techies" and "geeks" get excited about.

(WordPress is not just for geeks and techies)
