I know you might be asking well, why would I want to use layers? Let me answer that question by actually showing you websites that are using layers and how powerful and easy it is to use as a site builder in the video below.

If you've watched the trends since a few years ago, you'll notice that even before layers happened, a lot of the designs began to follow a pattern where they had a logo up top, a menu bar below that, then some sort of slider or picture. And then right below that they had a new layer, and then a white background with icons and then another layer with background imagery and things like that.  Similar to the image below.

Now, this is what happened before layers came along and this is why layers is just going to become more powerful because it’s following the trend and it’s a trend that is not going to end any time soon.

So, being able to create these designs back in the day was actually very hard to do, but layers makes it so easy that anyone can do this without having a huge amount of technical knowledge.

Layers is not just limited to one specific design. You can buy things like style kits and extensions and even child themes, which will allow you to have different types of layers. For example, you'll notice that as you look at different websites they have different layouts within the layer itself and these are what we call style kits.

If you think about Adobe Photoshop, if you've used that before, Adobe Photoshop utilizes layers. Kind of the same method here where one layer sits on top of the other.
